The present report contains the results from research which was carried out at Staverhult in the northern part of the Bolmen tunnel during the years 1984 to 1986. The research was supported by research grants from the Swedish Rock Engineerin9 Research Foundation (BeFo), Sydkrafts Research Foundation, Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Co. (SKB) and the Swedish Envi ron mental Protection Board (SNV).
The multidisciplinary research group has had several meetings and discussions during the research period. Two research reports (Bjarnason et al 1986, Stanfors 1987) have been published so far. Two other reports, Olofsson (1988} and Gustafson & Wallman (1988) are under preparation. The research results have also been presented and discussed at a seminar in November 1986.
